Beceived Octol c 13, 8.30 a.m. XiOSDOK, October 12. — The following are the Bank of England returns for the week: — Stock of gold coin and bullion, £32,044,000 ; reserve, £21,216,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, ,43 - 22 percent. ; notes in circulation, £30,158,000 : public deposits, £7,402,000; other deposits, £41,527,000; Government securities, £19,491,000; other securities, £26,080,000. Consuls are quoted at 98|. Three months' bills are discounted at 4 1-16 per cent. The following are the quotations for Colonial Government securities :—: — Mew South Wales 4 per cents, 116; SJ per cents., 103£ ; 3 per cents., 99. Victorian 4 per cents.,, 109^ ; 3§ per cents., 103. South Australian, 3J " per cents., 106 J; 3 per cents, 94£. Queensland, 4 per cents.. 109;'3£ per "cents., 103. New Zealand 4 per cents.,- Ill; 3f per cente., 105|; 3 per cents., 95. Tasmanian 3£ per cents., 103. -Westralian, 3J per-cents., 102. J The wheat markets are tending downwards, and cargoes are slow of sale. Australian, afloat, 325; September shipments, 32s 3d; steam parcels, 325. • Copper, nominal. Spot, £73 ; three months, £73 10s. Tin, irregular; -spot, *£134: three months, £127 15s. Pig iron, 80s. Lead, £18. Sugar, quiet. German beet, 9s; first marks, 123 6d. At Bradford wool is tendiJeg upward. Common sixties, 18d; supers, Hd. At the London sales all classes of wool \ are very firm, and Continental competition has improved. The butter market is brisk, colonial selling well at 106s to 108s; Danish 112s to 114s. .
