THE PAOTINGFU EXPEDITION.
GENERAL GASELEE IN COMMAND. • TYPHUS FEVER AMONG RUSSIAN TROOPS. Keceived October 13, 9.10 a.m. Houg-Kosg, October 12. — General Gaselee commands 5000 Allies at Peking, and Major Baillond, of the French forces, 5000 Allies at Tientsin. Both forces will -effect a junction near Paotingf u. The two forces contain no Americans, Russians, or Japanese. . General BaiUond's force includes Colonel Campbell's British Horse Artillery, a Pom-pom, and Australians, Indians, and a Hong-Kong regiment. After junctioning and arriving at Paotingfu, the supreme control will devolve on General Gaselee. The British at Hong Kong are patrolling Mira and Deep Bay. Two companies of Bombay Infantry are in readiness to proceed to the frontier. Typhns fever has broken out among ihe Russian troops in Manchuria. . Numerous members of the Triad Society have been arrested at Hong-Kong.
