JUDGING WEIGHT COMPETITION.

For the weight guessing compeiitioa there were a largo number of enterics. The bullock was found to weigh 9101bs, and the nearest guesses were E. Marshall, 888Ibs;and <&. Cliff, 9381b5. For tha sheep, which woighed 751 b, there were eight correct guesses by B. 'HoneyfieW G. S. Kennedy, A.W.8., J. M. Hignott J. H. Revdl, G. S. Connett, H. Newlnnd, and J. Murphy.

On enquiry at tho Hospital we -hear that Mr C. E. Enderby, who had the .misfortune to break his leg on Thursday morning, is progressing favorably.

To-morrow Mr Newton King will sell by auction without reservo at his mark a quantity of second hand books, comprising works of travel and fiction.

Anyone wishing a really good piano will do well to attend the sale by Mr Newton King to-morrow, when asuperior new instrument will be sold.

To-morrow Mr Newton King will continue the sale of drapery, &c , on account of Mr Rendell, when the balance of his branch stock will be sold without reserve

The census of the colony will be taken on the 6th April next year, for Sunday, the sth day of the said month. The gate money at the Show yesterday amounted to a little over £70, this, with members', exhibitor's, and other passes would make the attendance fully 2000.

The Gasette notifies that the 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th December next, and the Ist and 2nd January next will b» observed as holidays in the public offices ' of New Zealand.

In our report of the Show yesterday \re omitted to give a word of praise to tbo Secretary, Mr C. T. Mills* and the Committee, all of whom worked hard to make the Show a success.
