INGLE WOOD.

[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPOVDEST.] September 14.— Tho Ingluwood School Committee held its ordinary monthly meeting on the l.'tth inst. Present — Messrs Tarpleo (chairman), Lamb, McCarthy, Spurdle, Wilson and J. Ncwland. The Inspectors report oc tho Inglowood and Norfolk Road Schools was read. The report of the Inglewood School was favorable, and that of tho Norfolk Road fairly so. A letter was read from the Board of Education, New Plymouth, with reference to holidays and capitation allowance. After the end of the present quarter, viv.., 30th September, the capitation will be paid on the original scale, iustead of the 10 per cent as at present. The firewood shed, for the safe keeping of the children 3 firewood, has been completed at the Co3t of £G 13s, and the clerk was instructed to write to the Board of Education for that amount. It will be scon by the accounts passed for payment (£l2 19s lid) at last meeting of committee, that the capitation allowance soon runs out. The Board some time ago promised to give £4 v .for tho building of the shed. The Committeo hopes that tho Board of Education will now be so good as to pay tho whole amount (£G 13s), as the funds in the hands of the Committee are in alow state. The Chairman stated that he gave directions for a cord of firewood to be provided for the Inglewood school. — Action approved of. Messrs Lamb and Newland reported that they had got the ropes for the swing at the Inglewood school completed, and a few loads of gravel were required to be placed round the Bwing and somo other parts of the school grounds.
