Melbourne, April 11. The Liquidator's report 0.1 the Metropolitan Bank affairs shows that the total depreciation of assets since the issue of the last balance-sheet is £398,000. Sydney, April 11. The sentence of death passed on Mrs Makin for child murder has been commuted to imprisonment for life. The date for the execution of Makin has not been fixed, pending the consideration of a petition to appeal do the Privy Council on tho points decided by a full Court. Brisbane, April 11. The Archduke of Austria has left Singapore for Batavia. He is due liore on 27th. ■ Pebth (W.A), April 11. Altogether five cases of small pox are reported.
