Mr Connall, an Oamaru (N.Z.) resident, has interviewed Mr Brace, of the Stock Dopartment, relative to removing the embargo on importation of New Zealand sheep into New South Wales. Mr Bruce replied that he was communicating with the New Zealand Government on the subject of cessation of tho prohibition, which was of special import? ance to Now Zealand in view of a subsidy being granted for meat export in New South Wales, rendering nscessary the import of rams for cross-breeding purposes. Sydney, February 3. St. Joseph's Society has issued a circular to depositors suggesting the suspension of payment for three months, and that the payment of large deposits be extended for five years at yearly instalments. Tho Directors state that the Society is in a sound position, but that the assets are in an unrcaiisable state of affairs, which was brought about by the recent financial panic.
