GREEN BUG PLAGUE. Bulls, November 30. The green bug, common to the manuka scrub, is playing fearful havoc with the orchards in the Rangitikei district. They are to be x seen in thousands swarming on the fruit trees. Starting with the young wood they rapidly bare the tree of its leaves. Great loss of fruit is anticipated. SUDDEN DEATH. Dunedin, November 30. Charles Benman, coal merchant, died suddenly last night, Ho was seen at half-past 9 last night by his daughter, who found him dead in his bed at 7 o'clock this morning. He was GO years of age. It is supposed ho died from heart disease.
