MR. NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PRODUCE REPORT.

At 1 the Haymarkat, on Saturday, prices * for pigs were rather- better than the . previous weeks, slipß making 3s 6d to ss, ■medium sizes 10s to. 12s 6d. Horses ,were well-competed for, and nearly all ' offered changed hands at prices ranging from £1 to £5 Horse, saddle and bridle £5 10s, 1 light draught horse £7 15s. At the mart fowls made 9d to lid, dncks Id to is 4d, .potatoes Is 6d to 3s 6dj according to quality. Onions Id to l|d, . sharps 5s to 6s 6d, wheat 3s, maize 3s 6d, cheese 3£d to 4d, bacon 4d, bamß (good) 6d to 6id, sugar 2d, tea 12s 6d to 15s. A quantity of sundries and furniture made good prices.' The clearing sale of Mr Creagmile's • drapery was well attended, and fair prices were realised for most lines sold. Cattle.— At Stratford, on Tuesday, prices ■were phenomenally high, cah es and young especially. Everything sold readily. Calves made 19s to 265, yearlings tip to 37e, 18-montlis steers £2 10s, 2-years £3 4s JL I8 r mdntbs mixed £2 9s, fresh cows to £5- ss, stores 42s to 595, dairy cows made £3 10s to £4. — At Waiwakaiho there were not so many yarded. - Prices, however, were very high — a big rise on- last sales for all classes, particularly young cattle, store and daily cows. Small calves made 14s to 17s, good 19s to 30s, yearlings 355, store cows £2 12s to £3 3s 6d, fresh £3 Ss^o^aklOs, stores in calf up to £3 13s, ?da^lpringerfr-to.£4 10s, fat cows to £3 10s, woolly lambs 83, ewes 9s to 10s Bd, bullocks £4 10s to £6 3s.
