TIPS FOR EVENTS.
[By "Sam."]
There are seven events on the card, five of which are handicaps. The first is the Hack Hurdles, 1£ miles, for which a quartette have accepted. Without ;discusßing their merits, I shall vote for "~ Tommy, Lady Onslow Atlantic.
For the Pony Race, 6 furlongs, there are nine on the card. The race might result in this order: — Lady Onslow, Daisy, Coronet. For tho Bell Block Cup, 1^ miles, eight have cried content. The order past the post. might be— Durus, Sirius, lonic.
There are twelve in the Flying Handicap, 6 furlongs, and this race should prove an open one. As placed horses I suggest — Flukem, Durus, Handmaid. For the Distance Trot about 2 miles there are 23 on the card. This is such an open afEair that I shall not attempt to try and place the horses. In the Farmers' Plate, once round, there are 14 nominations (all likely starters), and as the majority of the contestants are unknown to me I shall not try to place, but leave the public to back their own fancy on the machine.
A Hurry Scußßy, post entry, will conclude the programme.
