ELECTION ADDRESS.
MR. SAMUEL AT FRANKLEY ROAD. Mb. Samuel addressed the electors of the New Plymouth District at the Fraiikley Road Schoolhoase on Monday evening. There was a large attendance, and Mr. W. B. Davies was elected chairman.
Mr. Samuel delivered a speech of upwards of two hoars' duration, dealing fully with the principal political questions of the day, and in addition answering the attacks of his opponents, and with evident success convincing his hearers of the unfairness and untrathfulness of the charges brought against him. H& concluded with a powerful appeal to hid hearers to disregard abase aad vulgar personality as a qualification for a representative in Parliament, and by assuring them that, if elected, he would in the future, as in the past, do his best to serve his fellow-settlers.
Mr. Samuel waß frequently applauded, and having answered several questions, Mr. Gibson proposed, and Mr. Henbt Oket seconded, a vote of thanks and confidence, which was carried unanimously. The meeting was a very enthusiastic one, and Mr. Samuel carried his auditors with him throughout.
