Tr/ESDAY, September 6. — Before 0. E. Rawson, Esq., K.M., and T. King Esq., J.P.

Judgment fob Plaintiff. — E. R. Morgan v. 0. S. Brodie, claim £3 '9s 8d for balance of account. Mr. Roy appeared for the plaintiff, and lednced the claim by £1 3s on an item omitted by his client. Defendant, who is a resident of the Lower Hatt) Wellington district, did not appear, bat the evidence of himself and wife taken in the Wellington B.M. Court was read. It was to the effect that all accojnta between himself and plaintiff had been squared before he left the Opunake district. After hearing the plaintiff's evidence, which was a total denial of tho defendant's evidence so far as the squaring up was concerned, His Worship gave judgment for £2 6s 8d balance claimed, with costs £2 3s. Adjoobned C/ jes. — Two oases were adjourned on account of the non-arrival of evidence. • The Court rose.
