SENDING FOR BISHOP'S BODY. Auokland, September 6. It is stated that the executors of Bishop, who was assassinated at 'Frisco, have deoided to bring hia body to Auokland for burial. LOSSES BY INSURANCE COMPANIES. As near as can be ascertained the various Insurance Companies in Auokland have, since the 25th August, sustained losses through fire to the extent of £7,960. SLY GROG SELLING. H. M. Simson, oharged with sly grog selling at Waiapu, has been fined £25 and the liquor confiscated. •FRISCO MAIL. Wellington, September 5. The Zealandia, with London mails of August 10th, left 'Frisco on August 26th, timetable date. The Alameda, with the New Zealand mails of August 15th arrived at 'Frisco on September Brd, one day before date. DEATHS IN A LUNATIC ASYLUM. No less than three patients died at the asylum on Saturday and yesterday. Death resulted from natural oauses in eaoh instance. They were all men, and none had been any great length of time in the asylum. THE LIBERTY OF THE SUBJECT DENIED. i The polioe intend to lay informations against seventeen fruiterers and tobacconists for keeping their shops open on Sunday night. MAN FOUND DROWNED. Blenheim, September 6. The body of a man named William Wetherall was found in the Wairau river yesterday. The deceased had a claim in the Wairau Valley, and at the inquest a verdict of found drowned Was returned. It was stated that the deceased was of unsound mind, and had been iv the asylum several times. AROHBIBHOP REDWOOD AT BLENHEIM. Archbishop Redwood on Sunday confirmed a hundred young people at the Catholic Church. He was presented with an address congratulating him on his elevation, and eulogising the work he had done for the Church. TINNING RABBITS. Over 80,000 rabbits have been tinned at the Meat Preserving Works in six weeks. Bunny is getting very scarce around Blenheim compared with former days.
