DOLL SHOW,
The Doll Show, which was held in the Freemasons' Hall on Wednesday evening £01 the purpose of raising funds in aid of tho Public Library Bazaar, proved successful beyond the most sanguine expectations, no less than £31 having been taken during the evening. The committee of youDg ladies who got tho entertainment up, and whose services guined for it the large measure of success, were as follow :: — ■ Misses Rawson (2), Misses Rennell (2), Misses Hempton (2), Misses Godfrey (2), Misses Wildinan, Devp.nish, and Pratt. The following were the principal " shows," giving also the names of the ladies by whom they were contributed :—": — " Maori Pah," with whares, Maories, pigs, dogs, oanoeß, and ah other features 'of Maori village life, by the Misses iHempton ; " Milliner's. Shop," the Missed Rawson ; "Dame School," Miss Pratt; "Crosspatch," Mis 9 Wildman ; " Babes in the Wood," the Misses Rawson; "Swinging Girl," Miss M. Rawson; "Tennis Party," Miss Wildman; "First ßall," Miss A. Rennell; " Nancy Lee and others," Miss Stuart; " Gretna Green," Miss Godfrey; "Group from Patience," Miss M. Godfrey; " Look at the Clock," Miss Godfrey; " Sir Peter and Lady Teazle," Miss Godfrey; "Red Riding Hood and Wolf," Mrs. Rawson ; " Lady Rohesia," the Misses Hempton; " Grandma," Miss Rawson; "Sleeping Beauty," Miss Rawson; "Cats' Tea Party," Mrs. Rawson; " Maritana," Miss Wildman; "Cherry Ripe," Miss Deveniah.
The tableau of "Tliq Sleeping Beauty " was given in the side hall, the following taking part: — Miss B. Godfrey, .Miss M, Godfrey, Miss M. Rawson, Mr. C. Shaw, Mr. T. Heunpton, and Master A. Webster. The following took part in the " Waxworks " — Miss E. Godfrey, Miss A. Hempton, Miss Wildman, Miss M. Godfrey, Miss RawsoH, Mr. S. Shaw, and Mr. T. Herupton.
As the expenses amounted only to about £3 tho clear profits o£ the entertainment amount to over £27.
