WRECK OF P.S. PATERSON.

TO TUB KDITOR.

Sir, — The dangerous position of this wreck, as it now lies sunk in midchannel iv the narrowest part of the entrance to the Waitara River, almost entirely submerged at high water), is a disgrace to the Marine Board, aud it is high time prompt measures were taken by tho Waitara Harbour Board to bring under the notice of the Government that this obstruction to the river must bo removed at any cost and without delay, and thus prevent a groat loss of property (and possibly life), which may at any moment occur to craft entering and leaving this port. Already accidents have boon with difficulty averted.— l am, &c, Shipowner.

Waitara, Septembor 15, 1879.
