PROPOSED RE-DISTRIBUTION OF ROAD DISTRICTS.

The following we copy from a paper laid on the Coancil table on Wodnosday week, in which is shown tho proposed re-distribution of the Road Distriots in the Province .—

Main Trunk District (North). — Bounded as follows : — By tho sea beach from the Honui River to tho eastern boundary of suburban allotmont No. 1, thence by tho said boundary to tho Brown Road, thence by tho north sido of the said road to the Carrington Road, tbence by the last mentioned road to Stafford-streot, thonco by the said street to the Nelson Road, thenco by the said road to Brookes' Terrace, thenoe by a straight line to the nearest point on tho Waitara River, thence by tho said river to the south boundary of the snburban land, thence by the said bonudary to the TVaitara Road, thonoo by a straight line from the last mentioned point to the jnnotion of the Richmond and Kairan Roads, thence by the south-oast boundary of allotment No. 121 to the Waiongana River, thence by the said river to the Te Arei Road, thence by the said road to tbe Ninia Road, thence by the last mentioned road to tho Corbett Road, thence by the south-east, south-west, and north-west boundaries of allotment No. 10 in the Bell District to the Mangati Junction Road ; thonco by the said road to tho Paraite Road, thenco by tho said road to the south-east boundary of allotment No. 14, thence by the said boundary to the Paraite Reserve, thenoe by the north-east, south-oast, and south-west boundaries of the said reserve to the south-east corner of allotment No. 8, Haa District, by the south-east boundaries of allotments Nos. 8, 60, and 59 ; thenco by a line in prolongation of the said boundary of the last mentioned allotments through allotment No. 58, thence by the southeast boundary of allotment No. 15, thence by the north-east boundaries of allotments Nos. 9G and 97, theuoe by the southeast boundaries of the last mentioned allotment and the Hoehoe Reserve to the Manganaha stream, thenco in a straight line to the southeast corner of allotment No. 185, Fitzroy Distriot,- thence by the south-east and south-west boundaries of tho said allotment to tho southwest corner of allotment No. IGG, thence by the south-east boundaries of allotments Nos. 105 and 86 to the Henui River, and thence by the said river to the sea. Main Trunk District (South). — Bounded as follows : — By the sea beaoh from the Timaru to the Cutfield Road, thence by the said road to a j line in prolongation of the sontb-east boundary of ' allotment No. 12, Fitzroy District ; thenoe by the i said line and tbe sonth-east boundaries of allotments Nos. 12, 11, 9, aad Native Reserve No. 7 ; thence by the north-east boundary of allotment No. IG, thence by tbe south -east boundaries of the said allotment and Native Reserve No. 1, thence by the north-east and south-east boundaries of allotment No. 24, tbence by the north-east and south-east boundaries of Barrett's Reserve C and the south-east boundary of Barrett's Reserve D, thence by the north-east and south boundaries of allotment No. 43 to the Mangahererangi stream, thence by the said stream to the sonth-east corner of allotment No. 44, thenoe by the south-east bonndary of the said allotment to theSealy Road, thenoe from tho said road at the point of intersection of a line in prolongation of the south-east boundary of allotment No. 39 to the juuetion of the Pheney and Hurford Roads, thence by the last mentioned road to the Tapnae stream, thence by the said stream to the Plymouth Road, thence by the Plymouth Road, a roadway, and the Croydou Road to the sonth-east corner of allotment No. 33 ; thence by the south-east corner of the said allotment to the Korn Road, thence by the said road to tbe east corner ofallotmentNo.l6, thence by tho south-east bonndaries of allotments Nos. 16 and 15 to the Oakura River, thence by the said river to allotment No. 42, thenoe by the southeast bonndary of the said allotment to the Surrey Hill Road, thence by the said road to the east corner of allotment No. 41, thence by the east and south-east boundaries of the said allotment to the Wairau Road, thence by the boundary of the Oaknra District to the east corner of allotmeut No. 93, thence by the south-east boundary of the said allotment to the Weld Road, thonce by the said road to the bonndary between allotments Nos. 9G and 97, thence by tho aaid boundary to allotment No. 94, thence by the south-east boundary of the said allotment to the Timaru stream, thence by tbe said stream to the boundary between allotments Nos. 107 and 117, thence by the south-east boundaries of allotments Nos. 107, 106, and 105, to the Pitone Road; thenoe by the said road to the boundary between allotments Nos. 104 and 115, thence by the said boundary and a roadway to the boundary line of the Tataraimaka District, thence by the said lino to the Katikara stream, thence by the said stream to the boundary between allotments Nos. 41 and 47, thence by tbe said bonndary to tbe Dover Road, thence by the said road to allotment No. 50, thence by allotments Nos. 50 and 49 to the Oxford Road, thence by tbe said road to the boundary between allotments Nos. 48 and 43, thence by the said boundary to the Hangalahua River, thence by the said river to the north bonndary of allotmont No. 13, thence by the said bonndary to tho Kaiuihi stream, thence by the said stream to the north boundary of allotment No. 7, thence by the suid boundary to tho Hampton Road, thence by the said road to the north boundary of allotment No. 9, thence by the said boundary to the Perth Road, thence by the said road to tho north boundary of allotment No. 10, thence by the said boundary and a line in prolongation of it to the Kaitikara stroam, thence by the said stream to a line in continuation of the north boundary of allotmont No. 27, Tataraimaka District ; thence by the said line aud boundary to the Pitone stream, thence by the said stream to the north bonndary of allotment No. 21, thence by the said boundary to the Greenwood Road, thence by the said road to the north boundary of allotment No. 22, thence by the said boundary to the Timaru Road, thence by the said road to the north-east boundary of allotment No. 10 to the Timaru stream, and thence by the said stream to the sea beach.
