■Sir, —The tenor of your correspondents' letters on the slogan question suggests to me that perhaps they were disappointed competitors in the contest. If, on the other hand, they failed to send suggestions for a slogan, I.do not think they are' justified in criticising the efforts of the Business Men's Association for boosting the town.' It is certain that any progressive move will be met with opposition from disgruntled persons, and frankly, Mr Editor, I think "Vox-Populi/" ought to come to light with something that doesn't lack "kick" or "pep." If he cannot do so, his attitude is just-as ridiculous as his attempt to belittle the slogan chosen. It must be admitted that it is not an easy matter to coin, a slogan that will meet with universal approval, and at the same time serve the purpose for which it is intended —that is, the advertising of Temuka. "Choose Charming Temuka" la euphonious and pleasing, and tha Business- Men's Association flight seek much further and fare worse. public vote on the matter. Perhaps this still could be done, and certainly if all the slogans submitted were published, it would enlighten your readers as to the material that was ■ available. —I am, etc.,
