Mr S. K. Richards, of Temuka, is at present on a visit to Christchurch, and is staying at the Clarendon Hotel.

Mr M. G. Greig, Business Agent of the New Zealand Railway Department, Dunedin, paid a visit to Ger-a-ldine on Thursday, returning by the express ou Friday -morning. Mr Barrie Mareschal was in Temuka jyestdrday completing arrangements for' the. screening of "The White Sister," at the Dominion Theatre, Temuka, at an early date. There is no need to go to Timaru when you will be able to see it locally. His; many friends are feeling anxious 'about Mr Alex. Beattie, the we'll-known cross-country rider. He has been in hospital at Timaru for some time past suffering with blood poisoning, and has taken a turn for the worse, it being feared that it may be necessary to amputate his hand.

The late Deputy Mayor of Geraldine (Mr G. R. Sherratt), who lias accepted a position as manager of the Fairlie Motor Company, and left Geraldine yesterday, was on the eve of his departure presented with a gold Albert "by some oif his friends and fellow Councillors, at the Borough Council Chambers on Thursday evening.
