LONDON, July 22. The Select Committee on the 1 Meals for Scholars' Bill, recommends that ilhe work of supplying meats be en trusted to the local education authority, with the help of volunteers. It suggests levying a rate of a halfpenny in the pound to meet the cost. Mr Keir llardle moved areduction of .Mr Morlcy's salary as Secretary for India, in order to extend the scope oi the Indian Budget. After discussion, tin l motion was defeated by 64 votes with the assistance of the Unionists in a thin House. _____________
