Racing Conference.
Wellington, July 2D. The Racing Conference met in the Parliamentary Buildings this morning, Sir d Clifford presiding. All the principal club were represented. A motion was passe without dissent recommending that nomin ations, etc., should not bo received a public-houses. Mr Hankins moved tha the time has arrived when country club shall be permitted to have direct ropresen tation on metropolitan committees. Captain Russell opposed. The chairman approved, so long as the internal administration of metropolitan affairs was properly protected. Ouo speaker said that groat friction would bo] caused if the motion was not carried. Eventually it was carried by 22 to 11.
