A match was played at Timaru on Thursday afternoon between the Union and Ngati-Huirapa (Maori) teams. There was very little passing, and the visitors carried every scrum, but fumbling by their backs let the Union get on the ball again very quickly. Excellent play was shown on both sides and the game was a most interesting one. Mr W. Moore was referee, and carried out his duties most impartially. Melbourne, July 20.
