Totalisator Permits.
Speaking at the Kacing Club's Conference at Wellington, whem dealing with totalisator permits, the Hon. J. Carroll, Colonial Secretary, said as to the application of the Geraldine Club for a permit, he thought that it would be wise to treat the matter in the same way as the Takapuna Club's request. Certain conditions would be imposed in both cases. He thought it would be well to leave the matter for himself and the chairman to settle. At the Trotting Conference dealing with the same subject Mr Carroll said the permit for Temuka would be held in abeyance.
