THE ELECTIONS AT HOME.
London, N<,v. 29. The Right Hon. James Lowther and the Hod. Rupert Carringtm have been defeated, and Mr W. E. Forster, Mr Peter Ry'lande, Mr Sclater Booth, Mr H. Chaplin (Chancellor of the Ducby of Lancaster), Sir R. E. "Webster (Attorney-General), and Mr R. Chamberlain have been elected. Bradford and Islington have each returned three Liberals. The returns from Ireland, show that eight Conservatives have teen elected, and in Scotland three* Conservatives have been returned. Messrs Parnell and Healey have been elected by large majorities for the Cork constituencies, but a protest has been lodged against Mr Parnell on, the ground of his having been wrongfully described on the ballot papers. Nov. SO. The latest election returns show that the Conservatives Lave gained the day in one hundred and sixteen boroughs, and the Liberals in one hundred and seven boroughs. The London constituencies have returned 37 Conservatives and 25 Liberals. Austria is largely mobilising her army. Dec. 1. Sir Richard Cross has been returned for Lancashire. So far 160 Conservatives have been elected, and. 182 Liberals and 29 Parneliites. Mr Joseph Cowen and Mr John Morley have been elected, and Mr Warner has been rejected.
