GENERAL HAYASHI RESIGNS. ARMY DISCIPLINE RESTORED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10.30 p.m. Tokio, Sept. 4. General Hayashi has resigned the Ministry of War portfolio, believing that he has sufficiently restored discipline and unification in the Army. He is assuming responsibility for the assassination of General Nagata. General Hayashi’s successor is General Yoshiyuki Kawashima, a War Councillor, formerly commander of the Korean garrison.
