CENTENARY SOCIAL
NEW PLYMOUTH RECHABITES. CJ YEARS’ WORK IN TARANAKI. In commemoration of the centenary of the establishment of the Rechabite Order and of the 60th anniversary of its establishment at New Plymouth, a successful social was held at the Devon tea rooms on Monday night. Visitors were welcomed by Bro. P. Hopkins, Provincial Chief Ruler, and the gathering was addressed by Bro. Frank Davis, Wellington, who briefly traced the history of the order and the circumstances of its establishment. The following programme was contributed: Orchestra: song, Mr. Les. King; recitation, Miss B. Aylward; pianoforte solo, Mr. P. Fredric; song, Master Ken Bullin; song, Bro. W. P. Okey; item, Mr. H. Bullin; saxophone solo, Mr. L. Burgess; recitation, Mr. H. GilmoreSmith; orchestra. A vote of thanks was accorded the performers.
