JUNIOR FOOTBALL
LAST WEEK OF COMPETITIONS. SEVERAL MATCHES CANCELLED. With the junior grade winners all decided there was not very much interest in North Taranaki junior matches, several not being played under mutual arrangement. In the first junior competition Urenui and School did not play and Turangi and Tukapa won by default from Clifton and Star respectively. The third grade Star-Old Boys match was not played and Tukapa A and B won by default from Lepperton and Urenui resp actively. The only game played in the fourth grade was that between Tukapa and School A, and in the fifth grade School C beat Star by 19 to 9. Final details are:— First Junior. Tukapa beat Star by default. Turangi beat Clifton by default. Third Grade. Tukapa A beat Lepperton by default. Tukapa B beat Urenui by default. Fourth Grade. Tukapa 17 beat School A 0. Fifth Grade. School C 19 beat Star 9. Final points tables are:— First Junior.
SOUTHERN COMPETITIONS. ONLY FEW MATCHES PLAYED. No junior grade Rugby was played in South Taranaki on Saturday, Hawera A winning from Waimate by default, Okaiawa defaulting to Hawera B and the game between Patea A and Kaponga being cancelled. In a fourth grade game at Eltham Waimate 26 beat Eltham 0. Okaiawa fourths defaulted to Kaponga.
