TOWN CANDIDATE LEADS
MIDHIRST KING CARNIVAL. The town candidate, Mr. R. Meads, at present leads the Midhirst king carnival contest witm 2068 votes, the sports candidate, Mr. J. Ryan, has 1867, and the country candidate, Mr. A. Mapp, has 1104. J , A flag five hundred party and dance was held in the hall on Monday night in aid of the country candidate, Mr. Mapp. The prizewinners were Mesdames Thoebald and Gooch and Messrs. P. Andersen and H. Mills. The travelling prize was won by Mr. S. Reid, the “coal” competition by Mrs. Bunning, and another by Mrs. H. Jensen. Mr. Mapp also had a card evening at the home of Mrs. H. Jensen on Wednesday. The prizewinners were: Miss Harkness 1, Mrs. Hunt consolation; Mr. J. Thompson 1, Mr. Mapp consolation.
