AUTHORITY AT STRATFORD. FOUR-DAY SITTING CONCLUDED. Eleven applications -in connection with goods service licenses were dealt with by the No. 5 District Licensing Authority at Stratford yesterday. Of the six for straightforward rene^} s were granted, decision was withheld in the sixth pending the submission of a balance-sheet, and decision was reserved in three of the five applications for re newals with amendments and in the case of an application for a new license. The authority comprised Messrs. F. Thomson (chairman) and J. C. Rolles ton, Major R- W. Wilson, and Mr. N. E. Jory (secretary). Messrs. W. P. Miße and A. G. Grant represented the Railway Department. Yesterday completed the four-day session of the auuiority at Stratford, though it will again sit at Stratford for part of next Tuesday. Applications for renewal were granted as follows on the same terms and con-, ditions as last year, except where otherwise mentioned:—Mr. A. R- Gower, Eltham; Mangatoki Co-op. Dairy Co. Ltd., Mangajoki; Taranaki Daily ford; Mr. J. E. Whyte, Stratford; Mr. W J M. Smith, Toko; C. A. Maslin and'Son., Eltham, with one. amendment (license for one four-wheel trailer); Mr. W. Curd, Stratford; Mr. A. W._ Close, Stratford, with the additional right to carry show and pedigree livestock to and from the area from and to New Plymouth and Hawera show and sales, and furniture to and from the area from and to New Plymouth and Hawera; Mr. A. E. Commerer, Eltham.
