Mrs. Lacey is visiting Mangatoki as the guest of her sister, Mrs. B. Linn. Mrs. Massie, Shannon, is visiting her mother, Mrs. S. Clark. Miss C. Fulcher, Ohura, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. F. Spence, Stratford.

On Thursday afternoon Mrs. N. Douglas held an enjoyable “at home” for some of her friends. Those present were Mesdames A. Yamdiey, Jeffries, L. Furrie, D. Morris, McDonald, W. Brown and Miss R. Morrison, Vince, K. Bonner, J. Hill, Adams, P. Neilsen, J. Bonner, P. Crowe, D. Houghton, H. Trotter, P. Hunter and Brown (2). Some of those present at the card evening at Mrs. H. Jensen’s home, Midhirst, bn Wednesday were: Mesdames Hunt, Baskin, Meads, Thompson, Castelli, Vickers, Mapp and Misses Tombes, Guthrie, ■ Wardell,’ McKinnon, Harkness and Castelli. About 50 guests assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. Gray, Rosalind Street, Stratford, to celebrate the coming of age of their son, Mr. Eddie Gray and to bid him farewell on the eve of his departure to join H.M.S. Philomel.
