. Mrs. P. Collins, Pembroke Road, has returned from a visit, to Hamilton. Miss Galbraith, Auckland, is on a holiday visit to Stratford, and is the guest of her sister, Mrs. F. Stephens, Opunake Road.
Mrs. L. Mackay and Mrs. E. Silver, Wellington, are visiting Mrs. Lindop, Stratford
Mrs. Lacey is visiting Mangatoki as the guest of her sister, Mrs. B. Linn. Mrs. Massie, Shannon, is visiting her mother, Mrs. S. Clark. Miss C. Fulcher, Ohura, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. F. Spence, Stratford.
On Thursday afternoon Mrs. N. Douglas held an enjoyable “at home” for some of her friends. Those present were Mesdames A. Yamdiey, Jeffries, L. Furrie, D. Morris, McDonald, W. Brown and Miss R. Furrie. Mrs. E. L. Masters was hostess on Wednesday night at a flag five hundred and dancing party Guests included Mesdames R. Macßae, E. Botten, H. T. Cooper, Webber, C. Masters, Lester, Patea, J. Petrie, F. Stephens, Pepperill, Eltham, Miss • Galbraith, Auckland. Members of the Portland Bridge Club were entertained this week by Mrs. A. Coleman, those present being Mesdames D. Malone, J. Lyons, L. Furrie, L. Jardine, E. Spence and J. Cresswell. ' Mrs. Robertoji gave an enjoyable afternoon on Thursday. . \ Mrs. Riddell has returned to Eltham after a short visit to Mrs. J. Richards. Mrs. W. S. Spence entertained on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Batten entertained on Thursday afternoon. ' Among those present at a party given in the Kahouri hall by Mr. and Mrs. Stallard to mark the coming-of-age of their son, John, were Mesdames Stallard, Muggeridge (Oeo), Carter and Wilson (Eltham), Hann, Bonner, Boy de (2), Brown (2), Morrison* Sangster, Hight, Hunter, Neilsen, Trotter, Parish, O’Reilly, Death, Horn, Paftinson and Misses Stallard (3), F. Morrison, Vince, K. Bonner, J. Hill, Adams, P. Neilsen, J. Bonner, P. Crowe, D. Houghton, H. Trotter, P. Hunter and Brown (2). Some of those present at the card evening at Mrs. H. Jensen’s home, Midhirst, bn Wednesday were: Mesdames Hunt, Baskin, Meads, Thompson, Castelli, Vickers, Mapp and Misses Tombes, Guthrie, ■ Wardell,’ McKinnon, Harkness and Castelli. About 50 guests assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. Gray, Rosalind Street, Stratford, to celebrate the coming of age of their son, Mr. Eddie Gray and to bid him farewell on the eve of his departure to join H.M.S. Philomel. Dancing, games and community singing filled the evening. Among those presept were Mesdames Claridge, McMillan, Kilbride, A.' Gray, R. Gray and Lamb and Misses M. Gray (2), D. Gray, D. J’ayne, M. Stacpoolc, G. Cruickshank, M. Gooch, J. Milne, B. Lamb and L. Trass, ' ’
