OAKURA TENNIS CLUB
ENJOYABLE SOCIAL HELD. ' Tastefully redecorated with streamers of green and gold, the club’s colours, interspersed with greenery, the Oakura hall presented a pleasing appearance' bn Wednesday night for „ the tennis-club’s carnival dance. The hall was crowded and there were visitors from all the surrounding districts. Boulton’s orchestra provided the music. Messrs. C. Jans and F. Bagley were masters of ceremonies. Winners of novelty dances were: Mystery hike waltz, Mrs. L. Hughes and Mr. G. H. Bell; Monte Carlo, Mr. and Mrs. A. Drake; Mexican Monte Carlo, Miss Peggy Driscol and partner; Monte Carlo, Mr. C. Wilton and partner. Euchre for non-dancers was played in the supper-room, Mr. J. Freethy being in charge. Mrs. T. H. Price and, Mr. ■ A. Drake won the prizes. A competition and Mr. R. Weston. Songs were sung by Mr. Reid, Kaimiro. The following committee was in charge of supper: Mrs. F. Bagley, Misses V. Price, E. Grey and I. Allen, Messrs. D. Harvey, F. Bagley, J. Freethy, B. Hau and C. Jans, assisted by Mrs. D. Harvey, Miss F. Bell, Mrs. Hau and Messrs. G. H. Bell and L. Grey. Miss Mavis has returned from Stratford. I
