EGMONT-WANGANUI HUNT MEETS. ONE OF BEST RUNS OF SEASON. ■ In fine Weather hounds met at “Castle Hill,” Kakaramea, on Saturday, and a good day’s sport was enjoyed. Hares were plentiful and. several good runs were made. The pace set in the early stages of the afternoon was hard and gave riders one of the best runs of the season. Although perhaps the runs were not of the same pace, hares were still to the fore, and except for one occasion when hounds were on forbidden country the sport continued until late afternoon. The fences were all boxthorn, and as usual at Castle Hill, they had been splendidly prepared. At the conclusion of the run all were entertained at the homestead by Mrs. Richardson. The master, Dr. W. T. Simmons, thanked Mrs. Richardson for her hospitality and the neighbours for the use of the country. Mr. C. Pearce replied. Mr. H. Slater was elected an honorary member of the club.
