NEW LODGE AT PATEA

ODDFELLOWS’ OPENING CEREMONY Representatives of lodges from a wide territory attended the opening of the newly-formed lodge of ,the M.U.1.0.0.F. in the Foresters’ hall at Patea on Thursday. Sister 'Mackay, N.G. of the Loyal Toko Lodge, presided. The District Grand Master, Bro. D. G. Sherson, accompanied by present and past district officers, was received, and five candidates were initiated. Officers installed were: 1.P.N.G., Bro. W. T. Lamb; N.G., Bro. W. Bond; V.G., Bro. C. Martin; E.S. Bro. A. Bond; F.S., Bro. N. Coad. The District Grand Master wished the newly-opened lodge prosperity. The lodge was formed to co-operate with and not oppose other, lodges, and to further the principles of friendship, love and truth. Congratulatory speeches were made by several visitors, to which Bro. W. Bond replied. After supper a dance programme was held. <
