MAYOR TO OPEN SHOW

INDIAN TOURISTS MAY ATTEND. The Mayor of Stratford, Mr. J. W. McMillan, is to be asked to open the Stratford Poultry and Winter Show Association’s show this year, according to the decision of the show committee on Saturday night. Mr. M. Gernhoefer presided, and there were also present Messrs. W. Pettigrew, G. Jones, F. Kirkwood, H. Whittington, M. Aagaard, J. Ward, M. Steiner, R. Benefield and C. Pellowe. , The Taranaki Hockey Association wrote thanking the association for the invitation extended to officials and players of the All-India touring hockey team to visit the show, arid accepting the invitation, provided that it was acceptable to the visitors. , Messrs. J. Aitken, A. Ferguson, J. W. Boon, R. Ward, T. Franklin and M. Priest were elected members of the association.
