DANCE AND CARD EVENING. An enjoyable dance was held in the Egmont Village hall by the hall committee on Easter Monday. There was an excellent attendance including some from New Plymouth, Inglewood and neigh-, bouring districts. Music was played by the Maori string orchestra with extras by Mr. C. Hurlstone. Messrs. R. Guilford and J. Drinkwater were masters of ceremonies. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Miss D. Guilford and Mr. J. O’Byme and Miss Eunice Peters and Mr. H. Benny. The Egmont Village school committee held the third of a series of card evenings recently when, owing to the very stormy weather, only five tables were engaged in play. The table winning most flags was occupied by Mrs. H. Marsh and Messrs. H. Marsh and J. Dryden. Mr. Barnes conducted the play.
