An inquest concerning the death of Harold Douglas Carter, aged 22, who died before being admitted to the Taumarunui hospital on March 21, 1935, from injuries received when his motor-cycle collid’ed with a motor-lbrry driven by Noel Margan at Toitoi the same evening, was held this morning before Mr. A. S. Laird, district coroner. Dr. Russel V. Ritchie described the injuries Carter received and said death was due to shock and cardiac syncope, due in his opinion to injuries received by being struck by a fast travelling vehicle. He had no reason to change his opinion that Carter struck his head on the woodwork of the lorry, the impact being so violent as to force the front part of the head back into the posterior A finding that Carter died from injuries received when his cycle collided with a motor-lorry driven by Margan on March 21 at Toitoi was recorded by the coroner
