STRICTLY DEFINED
POWERS OF FEDERATION
NEW INDIAN GOVERNMENT
REASSURANCE TO PRINCES
LEGAL ADVISERS’ OPINION
By Telegraph-—Press Assn.—Copyright. Bee. 8.5 p.rn. London, April 15. Sir William Jowitt, Mr. J. H. Morgan and Mr. E. E. Edwards, as legal advisers to the Indian Princes, have considered the Government of India Bill says the Daily Telegraph’s special correspondent. They express the opinion that it gives a complete reassurance to the Princes that their position is adequately safeguarded. The Princes were doubtful whether the powers of the Federa'l Government were strictly defined. . The legal view is that they are as strictly defined and limited as is possible in an Act of Parliament. When the Princes resolved on fiebruary 25 that the Bill should be amended the full opinion of the jurists was not before them.
