CRICKET MATCH AT OMATA

TENNIS CLUB TEAM BEATEN. A team representing the Omata Tennis Club Was soundly beaten by the cricket club in a challenge cricket match played on Mr. Luxton’S property during the week-end. The cricket club made 78 runs in its one innings, the tennis club replying with 34 in the first innings and 12 in the second innings. E. Luxteft was the only batsman te make a stand for the tennis club, his score being 22, including two sixes. L. Hare (22) and J. Donald (17) were top-scor-ers for the cricket team, C. Wiltdn arid W. Sanger shared the bowling honours for the tennis, club, ahd T. Ryan and S. Jury divided the honriurs for the cricket club. Drihce Held in Hall.

There was, a fair attendance at a dance in the Oinata hall oh Saturday night. The music was provided hy Vinsen’s Ambassadors’ dance band and Miss E. Sanger played an extra dance. Messrs. W. Sanger and J. Bayly Were masters of ceremonies. The SUpper arrangements were attended to by a Women’s Committee.
