Mrs. Ferguson, Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs. W. G. Ingley. Mrs. Alan Maxwell is spending a holiday at Wellington. Mrs. A. McGregor was a visitor to New Plymouth this week. Mrs. H. A. Morrison has returned from Wanganui and is staying with her mother, Mrs. F. Ramsbottom. Miss Gwen Harcourt, who has been spending a holiday at Wellington, is visiting Miss R. Harris before returning to Eltham. Mrs. C. R. Honeyfield and Mrs. Magney, Hawera, are visiting their mother, Mrs. Wright, at Raetihl. Miss G. E. Taylor, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Harley, at Nelson, has returned. Mrs. Dick Gibson and her daughter, Kura, Wellington, who are on a motoring holiday, were Miss N. Gibson’s guests when passing through Patea this week. Miss D. Roberts leaves on Monday for Marton, where she will spend a few days before going on to Wellington. PATEA GARDEN CIRCLE. Red dahlias and white michaelmas daisies will be employed in decorating the tables when tea 'is served to the local returned soldiers on Anzac Day. The Patea garden circle decided on Wednesday to ask for permission to plant karaka trees at the Turi memorial and in Cambridge and Bedford* Streets. A strip of ground had been prepared for rambler roses in the Egmont Street reserve, it was reported. An exchange of seedlings was made. W. Kenworthy and Miss Lett were enrolled as members. The hostesses were Mesdames Laing, Macken, Mellor and Miss Lawson. Mrs. S. Gunn presided.
