ELTHAM “GIFT EVENING.”
A gift evening in honour of Miss Mary Furborough, who is shortly to be married, was held in the Frontiersmen’s Hall, Eltham, on Wednesday. Many gifts were received from the large number of friends present, and on their behalf Mr. F. Gawith asked Miss Furborough to accept the tokens. Cheers were called for the guest of the evening, also for Mesdames B. D. Harris and Les Pennington, who organised the ingThe evening was spent with dancing and games, music being played by Mr. W. Barleyman and Mr. H. Prime, with extras by Mrs. Paton, Miss N. Prince and Mr. McDonald. Songs were sung by Miss E. Rankin, elocutionary items were given Miss V. Davis and tap dances by Miss M. Lawrence. Mr. E. Butter was master of ceremonies. Monte Carlo dances were won by Mr. S. Cross and Miss J. Prime and Mr. and Mrs. Prime.
