LIGHTNING RAID

BOMBAY COTTON EXCHANGE. SEVERAL BROKERS ARRESTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 8.10 p.m. Bombay, April 10. The police made a lightning raid on the Bombay Cotton Exchange and arrested 148 Indian brokers engaged in dealing in American futures. A large sum of cash and papers were seized, but those arrested were released on bail. The exchange doorkeepers did not recognise the police and attempted to prevent their entry. A scuffle ensued and several were injured.
