HARVEST FESTIVAL
WAITARA SALVATION ARMY. ■The New Plymouth Salvation Army band and songsters visited Waitara on Tuesday night to take part in a harvest thanksgiving concert. The visitors were welcomed by Adjutant Jenkins. At the conclusion of the concert the produce was auctioned by Mr. Allen, the funds of the Waitara corps benefiting substantially as a result. Adjutant A. Canty, New Plymouth, presided at the concert, for which items were given by the band and songsters, vocal solos by Deputy-Bandmaster J. Stevenson and Sister D. Yardley, a vocal duet by Sisters D. Cobb and T. Stevenson, -a mouth organ solo by Bandmaster A. Smith and a recitation by Bandsecretary J. Cobb. Adjutant Jenkins thanked the visitors, who were afterwards entertained at supper.
