BRIXTON CARD CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the Brixton Card Club was held last week, Mr. Jury presiding over a good attendance. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory credit.Trophies for the highest percentage of wins in competition matches were won by Mr. E. D. Tate (crib) and Mr. A. Sutton (euchre), it was reported. Mr. G. E. Andrews’ offer of trophies for the coming season was accepted. The following officials were elected:— Chairman, Mr. L. Jury; secretary, Mr. G. E.- Andrews; auditor, Mr. W. McCaul; selector and; captain, Mr. L. Jury; delegates to card association, Messrs. Jury and Andrews.
Beginners’ Dance. About 120 children and adults attended the dance for children and beginners on Friday evening. Mr. L. Jury was master of ceremonies and Messrs. Rowe and Watson provided music. Euchre for non-dancers was won by Mrs. Bulter and Mr. K. Bint.
