Mrs. Gow, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. Winfield. Mrs. ■ Anson will leave during the' week for Whakatane.

Mrs. Archer, Purangi, is visiting Palmerston North.

Miss Sheppard, Tariki, is a -visitor to Inglewood. Mrs. Messenger was “at home” on Tuesday of last week. Mrs. Minchin is visiting New Plymouth.

Miss M. Longbottom has returned to Inglewood after a brief ysiit to Okau. Mrs. J. Campny, Maketu Bay, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. P. Basham.

Mrs. F. Goodwin is spending some weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Macrae, Tarata.

Mrs. J. A. Ross entertained several friends to tea last Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. Carey, Auckland, who is spending some weeks in Taranaki, is the guest of Mrs. H. R. Marsh, Egmont Village. Mrs. C. R. O’Carrol is making excellent progress after her recent operation.

On Saturday afternoon Mrs. S. Wanklyn entertained’the' committees of the recent Plunket carnival at her home. Items were given by the following:— Recitation, Mrs. Dobson; songs, Mesdames L. Torrens and George and Miss Jean . Morton. Mrs. L. Brown was the winner of a competition.
