recommendation of umpires. SUSPENSION OF THE BOWLER. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright. London, March 5. The first-class cricket umpires, at a meeting, recommended the following procedure regarding the operation of “direct attack” bowling (a rule to which the authorities are expected to agree, says the Mirror): “Two suspect deliveries will be passed but if the bowler transgresses a third time the umpire will call ‘dead ball’ and notify the captain who must take off the bowler for the fest of the innings.”
