' ‘ ■ *• Following- is the annual report to be presented at the third , annual meeting, of the Fitzroy Golf Club on Thursday, March 14:— Throughout®the season, which was enjoyable and successful, regular weekly competitions were held fOr both men and lady members. The winners of the main events for the season were:— Men’s events: Senior .championship, S. D. Clark; runner-up, C., Granger. Junior championship, L. Frethey; runner-up, G. Pullen, Open handicap, W. Short; run-ner-up, H. C. Huxford. Easter tournament: Easter handicap, S. Russell; president’s handicap, J. Medhurst.

Labour week-end tournament: Fitzroy championship, R. A. Boon; Pukeweka handicap, B. Wills; Te Henui handicap, R. Perkins; Egmont handicap, L. Frethey; consolation handicap, S. White. Women’s events: Junior championship,; Mrs. J. Johnston; runner-up, Mrs. Weir. Handicap event, Mrs. Wagstaff; runnerup, Miss Guscott. Wagstaff Cup, Mrs. Winiki; runner-up, Mrs. Wagstaff. Week-end handicap, Miss Grey; runnerup, Miss Hammond. Week-end trophy, Miss Pepper. The following inter-club matches were played:— » Men: v. Waitara, lost; v. Stratford, won, lost; v. Okato, won, won; v. Tarurutangi, won, won; v. Inglewood, drawn; v. Opunake, won, abandoned. > The ’ women played nine inter-club matches with Waitara, Cape Egmont, Okato, Tarurutangi and Waiwakaiho, of which six matches were won, one match lost and two matches, halved. The thanks of the club were due to several members for gifts of trophies and honours boards, and to Messrs. J. B. Mac Ewan and Company, Ltd., for a cup for the men’s junior championship. In view of the success of previous Labour week-end tournaments it was decided to hold an annual tournament at the Fitzroy links each Labour week-end to' be called the North Taranaki golf championship. As Mr. C. H. Stephenson will not be available as coach for the ensuing year Mr. Campbell, professional attached to the Waiwakaiho club, will be available. The club extends its good wishes to the newly-formed Okoari Golf Club at Westown.

The thanks of the club' were due to Mr. A. E. Lewis (caretaker) for his willing assistance.
