FIRE BRIGADES’ DEMONSTRATION. CARTERTON THE MAIN WINNER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Last Night. The fire brigades’ demonstration concluded after 8 o’clock on Saturday night, the final runs being made under artificial light, when excellent times were put up. Following are tire leading aggregates in the various shield competitions: — Championship shield: Carterton 130$, Petone 755, Hawera 632, Gore 59, Greymouth 47, Dannevirke 23, Whangarei 224, Otorohanga 19, Taumarunui 16$, Rotorua 14, Stratford 13, Te Kuiti 12$, Waipukurau 12$, Cobden 12, Hastings 10, Hokitika 10. Manual shield: Hawera 28$, Petone 23, Carterton 15, Rotorua 14, Whangarei 13$, Otorohanga 11, Hastings 10. Stratford gained 6 points and Taumarunui 4. High pressure shield: Carterton 1245, Petone 735, Gore 59, Hawera 52J, Greymouth 47, Dannevirke 23, Taumarunui 16$ Otorohanga 16, Whangarei 13|, Waipukurau 12$, Cobden 12, Hokitika 10. Stratford gained 7 points.
