A man who found a wallet containing £6 and neglected to return it rintil the police communicated with him was prosecuted yesterday on a theft charge. He was Arnold A. L. Suiter, aged 23. The evidence was that the owner of the wallet was riding a motor-cycle and dropped the wallet. A passing postman saw a motor-truck stop and a man pick up the wallet. The owner advertised the loss without result. The police eventually obtained the wallet and the money from Suiter, who said he fully intended to return the property,_ but owing to pressure of work at the time he was unable to do so. The Magistrate said there was no excuse. If the man was too busy to find the owner he could have sent thfe wallet to the police.
