SUCCESS IN RECENT GAMES. ■ The results of the last three matches played by the Ratapiko Cricket eleven have been wholly satisfying. Perhaps their most meritorious victory was the defeat of Stratford Wanderers on Victoria Park. recently. i A -hort while ago the Eltham Power Board’s eleven visited Ratapiko and was defeated by. an innings and 91 runs. Linklater two for 3, Burke for Power Board took three for 46, Hickey one for 46 and Snell none for The match against Makatawa saw Ratapiko suffer defeat by 15 runs. Ratapiko could compile only 50 runs, due mainly to L. Dravitzki’s 19 and M. Linklater’s 11. Bowling for Makatawa Arnold took four for 1 and Hardwick two for 2 and Burrows three for 11. Makatawa’s 65 was due mainly to G. Irving’s 42, although D. Irving made 11. In the match against Egmont Village, Ratapiko batted until an hour before stumps with still two wickets to fall, C. Linklater and L. Dravitzki, bowled 18 overs, and, bowling against players of the calibre of some of the Stratford batsmen, acquitted themselves well. G. Linklater took five for 9 and L. Dravitszi four for 20. Millar batting for Stratford made 18 not out, being the only batsman to reach double figures. Ratapiko’s innings commenced at 1.30 and at stumps the side was all out for 124, O. James 20, D. Therkleson 19, L. Dravitzki 18, T. Bilski 13 and L. Mamby 11 and G. Linklater 18. Bowling for Stratford, Kivell took four for 33, Pollard three for 39, Richards One for 7 and Page one for 2. Ratapiko will play Power Board next week at Ratapiko.
