Excess imports in 1934 of £295,000,000 were balanced by excess Government receipts from overseas of £9,000,00, net national shipping income £70,000,000, income from overseas investments £175,000,000, and receipts from commissions and other sources £40,000,000, leaving a debit of £1,000,000.
