SMUGGLED BUTTER
REPORT IN UNITED STATES. SHIPMENT FROM NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, Feb. 16. A report that New Zealand butter i« being smuggled into Whatsom County is being investigated by the United States Customs authorities, states a message from Bellingham, Washington State. A cargo of New Zealand butter reached Vancouver, British Columbia, recently and was awaiting entry to Washington. Entry was refused by Dr. Robert Prior. State Director of Livestock and Dairies, unless the butter was accompanied by certificates showing that it came from dairies complying with the equivalent of the Washington State sanitary requirements.
