STRIKE CONTINUES
BRISBANE ABATTOIRS DISPUTE. NO SHORTAGE SUFFERED YET. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Brisbane, Feb. 18. The unions involved decided unanimously to continue the Brisbane abattoirs strike until the Meat Industry Board has consented to negotiate with them outside the Arbitration Court. The unions have called for volunteers to picket certain butchers’ shops. Brisbane so far is not suffering from a meat shortage as the master butchers are killing their own cattle and sheep and by drawing on export stocks there is sufficient meat to supply city requirements for three weeks.
